A 63-year-old Taiwanese man died after falling onto the tracks and being struck by a train at the Pusat Bandar Puchong Light Rail Transit (LRT) station on Tuesday evening, 3 June 2025.

The man, identified as Chang Pao-Shih, was found unconscious under the train and later confirmed dead at the scene, according to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.
“We received an emergency call at 6.05pm. Upon arrival, we found a man underneath the train in an unconscious state. Further examination confirmed that the victim had died at the scene,” said Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, Assistant Director of Operations for the department, in a statement issued the same day, Astro Awani reported.
Case Classified as Sudden Death
According to Serdang District Police Chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad, the case has been classified as a sudden death.
Body Recovered and Sent for Post-Mortem
Emergency personnel from the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, along with police and medical teams, conducted a retrieval operation at the site.
Chang’s body was successfully removed at 8.05 pm and sent to Hospital Serdang for a post-mortem.
Train Services Temporarily Suspended
The incident caused major disruption to the Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT Line, with services temporarily suspended at four stations.
Rapid KL confirmed the suspension and announced that free shuttle buses were activated to assist affected commuters.
Services Resumed Nearly Three Hours Later
At 8:52 p.m., Rapid KL confirmed that full services had resumed across all affected stations. Subsequently, the shuttle bus service was deactivated.
In an updated Facebook post, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, the operator of the LRT line, said it was “deeply saddened” by the incident and pledged full cooperation with authorities.
The company also stated it contacted the Taiwanese embassy to assist the deceased’s next of kin.
“Rapid Rail will cooperate fully with the authorities in their investigation and will coordinate with the embassy to ensure appropriate support is extended to the victim’s next of kin,” the statement read.
Public Urged to Be Mindful and Respectful
Authorities and transport officials have urged the public to avoid speculation and refrain from spreading graphic content related to the tragedy out of respect for the victim’s family.
They also reminded commuters to be cautious when using public transport facilities.
