Collision During a Rehearsal in Langkawi
During a rehearsal for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025, a Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) vessel lost control and collided with a stationary tourist boat near Teluk Baru Jetty, Langkawi.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:34 pm on Thursday, 15 May 2025.
Injuries Reported, No Civilians Hurt
Langkawi police chief Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari said the navy vessel had five officers on board when it crashed into the tourist boat.

Two of the officers were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. No other civilians were hurt in the incident.
Navy Vessel Gets Stuck on Shore After Collision
Following the collision, the navy vessel continued moving uncontrollably and became stranded along the shore of a nearby island.
Videos shared widely on social media showed the navy boat crashing into the beach following the impact with the tourist boat.

While two individuals were visible on the navy boat, the operator was not clearly seen in the footage. The tourist boat had no passengers onboard, Kosmo reported.
Investigation Underway to Find Cause
According to Free Malaysia Today, the Royal Malaysian Navy has confirmed that a board of inquiry will be set up to investigate the cause of the accident that occurred during the rehearsal.
While no fatalities or serious injuries were reported, the inquiry aims to determine the factors that led to the loss of control of the vessel.
Police Urge Public to Avoid Speculation
Additionally, police have yet to receive any formal reports about the incident and have advised the public to refrain from speculating or spreading misinformation.
