Arrested Following a tip-off on Friday Evening
A 43-year-old police station chief was arrested on April 20 after allegedly consuming a drug-laced drink at a club in Pandan Perdana, Ampang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, on Friday, April 18, 2025.

The officer, who served under the Kuala Lumpur police contingent, was arrested by the Federal Narcotics Crime Investigation Department around 5:05 PM, following a tip-off and a follow-up operation, Free Malaysia Today reported.
Officer Tested Positive for 4 Types of Drugs
After his arrest, the officer underwent a urine test, which confirmed he had tested positive for four types of drugs: amphetamines, methamphetamines, ketamine, and benzodiazepine.

Following this, according to reports, the officer admitted to consuming a drink that is believed to have been laced with drugs and it was reported that the substance had been supplied by a man present at the venue.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrest and added that the officer had been remanded to assist with the investigation.

Transferred to Penang on the Same Day
On the very same day of his arrest, the officer received orders for a transfer to the Penang police contingent headquarters (IPK).
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that the transfer order was issued shortly after the officer was detained.
Internal Disciplinary Action Underway
During a press conference held on April 21, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa revealed that a total of 17 individuals were arrested during the operation, including the police officer who tested positive for drugs.
Rusdi also emphasized that police personnel are strictly prohibited from visiting entertainment outlets unless they are on official duty.
Even then, he added, proper authorization must be obtained from a superior before entering such premises.
Investigation Under the Dangerous Drugs Act
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a fine of up to RM5,000 (approx. S$1,490) or a maximum of two years in prison if found guilty.
