Police arrested a 35-year-old man on 30 March for allegedly assaulting a female driver after a road accident involving his family in Seremban, Malaysia. The incident occurred at approximately 10:15pm on Saturday, 29 March, along Jalan Persiaran Senawang 4, near the Mydin Senawang area.
According to Seremban district police chief Mohamad Hatta Che Din, the 28-year-old female driver was travelling from Mydin Senawang when the suspect’s 34-year-old wife and seven-year-old daughter suddenly crossed the road from left to right.
The driver could not stop in time and struck both pedestrians, who sustained minor injuries and received treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.
Caught on Camera: Assault Goes Viral
Moments after the collision, the man allegedly approached the woman’s car in a rage. A 22-second video that has since gone viral on TikTok shows the suspect punching the woman as she sat in her silver Perodua Axia.

He shouted vulgarities, carried his daughter to safety, then returned to punch the woman again as she attempted to exit the vehicle. Bystanders were seen trying to restrain him.

The woman reportedly sustained bruising to her right ribs and swelling at the back of her head from the attack.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Police arrested the suspect the following day at the Seremban District Police Headquarters to assist with investigations under Sections 323 and 427 of the Penal Code, relating to voluntarily causing hurt and committing mischief.

The police have urged the public not to speculate on the case, and reminded pedestrians to exercise caution while crossing roads.
Public Outcry and Online Reaction
The viral video sparked outrage across Malaysian social media platforms, with many users condemning the man’s actions as excessive and uncalled for.
Users also enquired about the child’s wellbeing.
One person took a lighthearted jab at the father, saying
“I am also a father. I am amazed to see this brother. While others are excited to celebrate Eid at home, he is eager to celebrate it in the lockup.”
Oddly, people tried justifying the man’s behaviour, only to be shunned by other commenters.
‘There’s a reason he punched… a father who protects his child, he doesn’t care anymore.’
“If he’s protecting his child, he should have held his child’s hand while crossing the road…”
‘Why wouldn’t the father be angry?’
“Do you think the woman who got punched doesn’t have a father? You like to punch people, try if your own daughter gets punched too.”
Further Steps
Investigating Officer Insp Mohd Khairul Aswad Mazlan encourages anyone with further information to contact him at 011-10843873.
The case has stirred discussions on road safety, pedestrian awareness, and managing emotions in high-stress situations, especially when children are involved.
