A French tourist visiting Khao Toh Sae in Phuket, Thailand, had an unexpected encounter when a monkey “stole” her phone and accidentally took selfies before locals helped retrieve it.
The TikTok user named ‘ju’ or @/justinefortemps shared a video of the incident on February 28, captioned “Monkey Hill Attack.”
The footage showed a young monkey gripping a phone while glancing at its owner before running up a tree.
Accidental Selfie Captured, TikToker Changes Profile Picture
According to the video, the monkey unknowingly recorded itself while holding the device. The footage included a selfie video of the monkey’s face before the camera switched to film its surroundings.

The French tourist, wearing pink, appeared concerned about losing her phone but laughed at the monkey’s antics.


Fortunately, one man assisted in recovering her phone from the monkey on the tree.
Adding to the humor, the tourist later used the monkey’s selfie as her profile picture on TikTok.
Another Monkey Pulls Tourist’s Hair
The incident didn’t end there. The Thaiger reported that after getting her phone back, the tourist was sitting on a footpath when another monkey suddenly pulled her hair from behind.
A Thai man in a red shirt intervened, scaring the monkey away.
Khao Toh Sae, commonly called ‘Monkey Hill’, is a popular tourist spot in Phuket, known for its scenic views and resident monkeys.
