Yamada, a 29-year-old company worker living in Shinjuku, was arrested by Tokyo Metropolitan Police on suspicion of having sprayed his own urine on children’s bicycles during incidents that occurred last year.

The incidents reportedly happened on three occasions during the early mornings of November 23 and 25, in residential neighborhoods across Shinjuku and Kita wards.

Targeting Children’s Bikes on Private Property

Yamada allegedly broke into several private homes to spray urine on bicycle seats, baskets, and helmets. The bicycles he targeted mostly belonged to girls.

Suspect Admits to Allegations and Shares His Motivation

Following his arrest on charges of trespassing and property damage, Yamada admitted to the acts. He explained to the police that he fantasizes about someone riding a bicycle without realizing that it had been sprayed with urine.

He added, “It makes me feel sexually excited,” according to Asahi Shimbun, cited by Tokyo Reporter.

Tools Used in the Offenses

Investigators from the Hon-Fuji Police Station revealed that Yamada used syringes and pump-style containers filled with urine to carry out the spraying.

Prior Public Indecency Case Connected to Current Investigation

This incident is not Yamada’s first brush with the law. In April 2023, he faced accusations of public indecency after allegedly exposing himself to a woman in her 20s in Hongo, Bunkyo Ward.

During that earlier investigation, police found numerous videos on his phone showing him urinating on bicycles, which helped spark the current case.
