On September 6, 2024, a woman pretending to be a buyer managed to steal a 2022 Porsche Cayenne in Mississauga, Canada. According to Peel Regional Police, the woman approached the owner, claiming she had seen the car listed for sale on Auto Trader. Dressed in a white shirt, brown skirt, and glasses, she gave no sign of her true intentions.
After asking to see the Porsche, she sat in the driver’s seat and locked the doors, trapping the owner outside.
Owner Injured as Suspect Escapes
The situation quickly turned violent when the woman shifted the SUV into reverse. As the owner tried to stop her, he was hit by the vehicle, suffering injuries to his elbow, hands, and legs.
While he wasn’t run over, the impact left him hurt, and the Porsche hit a nearby black SUV as she fled the scene.
The suspect’s escape seemed coordinated, as surveillance footage showed two other vehicles, a gray Bentley Bentayga and a blue BMW X5, which investigators believe were driven by accomplices.
Police Search for the Suspect and Accomplices
Authorities have described the woman as South Asian, about 5’5″ with long brown hair and glasses.
While the owner chose not to speak to local media, according to Carscoops, CP24 reported that he confirmed his injuries.
Peel Regional Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing to the public for any information about the incident. With the doorbell footage providing clear evidence, the police are confident the suspect will be caught. Once arrested, she faces charges of theft and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Call for Information
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the theft or has information to come forward. They are particularly interested in any details about the two additional vehicles spotted near the crime scene.
