A video that surfaced on social media has caused significant concern, showing a woman engaging in risky behavior while driving. The footage, shared by @/mynewshub on X, captured the woman steering her car with one hand while using the other to hold her phone above the steering wheel, in which she appeared to be watching a video.
Prioritizing Entertainment Over Safety
In the video, the woman seemed more focused on the content playing on her phone than on the road ahead. With her phone positioned above the steering wheel, she managed the vehicle with just one hand, compromising her control. This reckless behavior put not only her life at risk but also endangered other road users, as her reduced control over the vehicle significantly increased the likelihood of an accident.
Public Outrage On Reckless Driving
As the video circulated online, netizens quickly voiced their outrage, condemning the dangerous behavior. This not only poses a significant threat to the individual behind the wheel but also jeopardizes the safety of other road users.
One user expressed frustration with drivers who endanger lives, saying:
“Every day I come across idiots like this, driving dangerously—imagine if it were someone on a motorcycle…When you call them out, they act like you’re the one causing trouble, and if there’s an accident, they blame others…These kinds of people are just…the worst!?”
While another just advised, “If you want to watch dramas or movies, just stay home. Don’t drive. If it was only your own life at risk, fine, but you’re endangering others too.”
Meanwhile, another commenter pointed out that this reckless behavior is a common sight on the roads, whether it involves cars, lorries, or even buses.
“A bus or lorry, I often see this… Playing games, watching movies, chatting… you name it… Already reported it to MyJPJ.”
