Arrested After Traffic Collision and Knife Attack
A 24-year-old foreign woman was arrested in Kajang, Malaysia, on Wednesday (Aug 13) after she allegedly drove recklessly, rammed into three motorcycles at an intersection, and attacked members of the public with a knife.

Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the arrest happened at about 11.58 am near a shopping mall.
Passersby managed to restrain the woman before handing her over to the police.
Two knives were seized during the arrest.
Six Injured, Two Remain Warded
Six people, aged between 21 and 60, sustained injuries during the incident, Naazron confirmed. Two victims were admitted for further examination, while four others were treated as outpatients.
The collision also left three motorcycles damaged after being hit by the suspect’s car.

What Happened Before the Arrest
BERNAMA reported that early police findings indicated the woman was driving erratically near a shopping mall before colliding with three motorcycles at a traffic light.
After the collision, she allegedly exited her vehicle barefoot and armed with a knife, attacking nearby road users.

Videos circulating online show her chasing some motorcyclists while holding the weapon. Members of the public eventually managed to subdue her until police arrived.

It is also reported that in some footage, the suspect also appeared to enter the nearby shopping mall and attack more individuals before being restrained.
She was seen shouting repeatedly in Mandarin, “I hate Malaysia.”

The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
Investigation and Possible Charges
Naazron added that police intend to seek a remand order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code on Thursday (Aug 14), NST reported.
The case is being investigated under:
- Section 307 of the Penal Code – attempted murder, which carries a maximum prison term of 20 years upon conviction.
- Section 279 of the Penal Code – reckless driving, which may result in a jail term of up to six months or a fine not exceeding RM2,000 (approx. S$610).
- Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 – careless and inconsiderate driving, which can lead to a fine of up to RM10,000 (approx. S$3,050) and/or a prison term of up to one year.
