The celebration of the wedding should have started with celebrations, music, and applause. It was time to sit down, turn on cameras and point lights to the stage.
When the bride and groom entered, two handheld guns were fired in the air which burst bright sparks on the stage called Cold Pyro. Now, this was followed by a shock to the entire hall.
A Grand Start Goes Wrong
In seconds, the sparks fell on the artificial flowers that were suspended over the stage. The foam and light plastic decorations that were used caught fire almost instantly. The fire soon covered the area of the ceiling and burning debris started collapsing. The jovial situation was transformed into panic where guests rose and screamed.
The couple was frozen as they did not know what had happened. The air was smoky over their heads and the stage lights became more and more flickerly as the fire increased. There were rushing guests and others left back to protect children and old members of the family.
Fire Spreads in Seconds
The video of the incident depicts the speed at which the fire was spread. What began as a small fire was in a few seconds a huge fire. Employees were racing to the stage, and some individuals attempted to spill the couple out of the risk. Fragments of burning decoration fell near the foot of the place where the bride and groom stood.
The music ceased and the hall was full of yelling and tumult. Some of the guests took their phones to capture what was going on, others were searching exits. The fire was not long lived in, but the terror it brought about was terrible.
Cold Pyro Under Scrutiny
Cold Pyro effects are commonly applied in weddings, concerts and parties. They are promoted as being safe and being cool to touch. But, according to professionals, the sparks are capable of igniting fires in case they come into contact with inflammable substances. The stage in this instance was greatly adorned leaving minimal spacing between the effects and the ceiling decorations.
The area was later checked by the emergency responders to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. Luckily, there were no reported deaths, but there were individuals that were treated with minor injuries and smoke discomfort.
The wedding which was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience turned out to be shocking. The event is no longer remembered by photos full of smiles, but rather it was remembered by the sudden flames which halted the celebration abruptly.
