Representatives from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and the Vietnamese Public Security Ministry discussed inter-agency co-operation in Moscow on Tuesday.
Footage also shows the visiting delegation laying flowers at a monument to EMERCOM veterans. The video also features a meeting on joint projects.
“Following our work in Vietnam, we recognised the need to develop co-operation across various areas, from existing initiatives in education to sharing experience in conducting emergency humanitarian response operations abroad,” said Roman Kurynin, the Russian deputy emergency situations minister.
According to EMERCOM, “the Vietnamese side expressed a particular interest in Russia’s experience with ensuring radiation and fire safety at nuclear power plants” following the March 23 agreement to construct the country’s first nuclear power plant (NPP).
Earlier, Rosatom announced that the nuclear power station and the Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology are to be built in Ninh Thuan province. On February 5, a Vietnamese delegation visited the Leningrad NPP, where the corporation said they had witnessed the “advanced Russian technologies in the design, construction and operation of Generation 3+ VVER-1200 power units”.
Following the meeting, the Russian side also presented its Vietnamese counterparts with a draft plan for joint activities between the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for 2026–2027.
