Footage captured on Wednesday shows thick smoke rising over the Iranian capital, Tehran, amid the ongoing military escalation in the region for the fifth consecutive day.
The Iranian Red Crescent announced on Tuesday that 135 cities had been targeted by US-Israeli attacks since the start of the war, causing widespread destruction and material damage in several areas, as well as human casualties.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military earlier announced that it had begun large-scale strikes targeting what it described as ‘Iranian regime targets’ in Tehran.
The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday morning. Tehran said it was responding with strikes targeting Israel and US interests in the region, with reports of explosions in several Gulf countries.
In a related development, the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a strike on Saturday has been confirmed, following multiple rounds of talks between US and Iranian officials.
