A Holiday Turns Into a Once-in-a-Lifetime Encounter
A casual vacation in South Korea turned into an unforgettable adventure for two Malaysian women.
While strolling on the streets, they unexpectedly crossed paths with the cast of the long-running variety show Running Man, which led to a spontaneous on-camera moment.

According to SAYS, the surprise meeting happened during Episode 770 of the series, when the cast were carrying out a street mission and called out to the tourists.

Excited to recognise the famous crew, the women rushed over, with one even pulling out her phone to record the surreal encounter.

Proudly Introducing Themselves as Malaysians
The cast started by asking the women if they spoke Korean and where they were from. Although they admitted they couldn’t speak the language, they proudly replied that they were from Malaysia.

This prompted the cast to bow respectfully to them before proceeding with their challenge.
Jumping Straight Into the Game
The mission required a tourist to continue a word chain using the last syllable of the previous word, without being told the rules beforehand.
Song Ji Hyo started things off with “Gangnam” and looked expectantly at the women.

To everyone’s surprise, one of them quickly responded with “Namdaemun,” a correct continuation of the word.

The answer sent the entire cast into cheers. The women’s quick thinking impressed the cast, with Haha even admitting he got goosebumps from the moment. Song Ji Hyo gave one of them a hug as the crew celebrated together.

Malaysians Celebrate the Moment Online
After the episode aired, clips of the encounter went viral on social media. Many Malaysians expressed pride at seeing their countrywomen featured on such an iconic Korean show.
Others admitted they were envious but still applauded them for answering correctly despite not fully knowing the rules of the game.
Reddit Users Share Reactions
The clip also made its way to Reddit, where fans discussed the unexpected cameo. One user commented on Haha’s reaction, writing that it was “so good the guy got goosebumps from it, amazing.”
Another asked for clarification about the challenge, prompting someone to explain.
One joked that if they were in the same situation, they would have answered with “Style” in reference to “Gangnam Style.”
Others praised Malaysians’ enthusiasm for Korean culture.
What began as an ordinary holiday turned into a highlight moment the two women will never forget.
Their quick wit not only helped the Running Man cast complete their mission but also showcased Malaysians’ cultural versatility on an international stage.
