The violent fight led to the death of a 57 year old Australian tourist who was killed by a Swedish tourist in the island of Phuket in Thailand.
The case occurred on Wednesday evening in the Prachanukhro Road, which is a popular location not very far off the nightlife area in the island. What started as an ordinary road rage, soon evolved into a deadly brawl that both astonished the locals and tourists.

Police claim that the two men were on rented motorbikes when they began honking at one another. One of the witnesses alleged that one rider might have passed the person line, which led to anger and high-level shouting. The personage went on to an adjoining alley, where the thing at once became corporeal.
The Moment of the Attack
CCTV videos that are later reviewed by officers indicate that the Australian man steps back, and the other man moves towards him.
In a few seconds, the suspect hit him once with the lower part of his hand in what seemed to be a martial arts-style attack. The effect made the victim fall backwards causing his head to hit the ground hard. He fell into unconsciousness.

One of the women who seemed to be the girlfriend of the suspect attempted to intervene in the fight, but she failed to avert the attack. Once the man fell, the suspect and the woman fled the scene before the emergency services arrived.
The injured tourist was rushed to the Patong Hospital by the medics, and the doctors treated him with severe injuries to the head. He later passed on in the night despite their efforts.
Arrest and Charges
Patong district police rushed out an investigation. They analyzed the security camera footage and interviewed witnesses. The accused was recognized as a Swedish citizen of 29 years. He was then arrested at a hotel in Kathu district at a very early time of the morning.

Law enforcement stated that he was accused of murder committed through assault. According to the officers, he confessed that he hit the victim in the middle of an argument. The legal proceedings commenced by taking him to court where bail was denied.
The victim was an Australian national, as well, but a football fan who had a shoulder tattoo indicating his allegiance to his favourite team. The fact that he has died has devastated his family and friends.

Phuket is a renowned tourist destination in Thailand, and it has been receiving millions of tourists who visit it every year. But this tragic event has caused an issue of safety and increasing tension among the visitors in the island. According to police the file of the case has now been sent to be further prosecuted.
