A two-way mirror in the men’s public toilets at Dream World theme park in Pathum Thani, Thailand, has reignited controversy after a video of the feature went viral.

First introduced in 2019, the mirror allows men using the toilet to see outside, while passersby only see their reflection.

The unusual design was meant to be a fun and unique addition to the park. However, after the feature went viral again, it has drawn criticism online, with many calling it disturbing and raising questions about privacy.
The video has racked up millions of views, and social media users have expressed their concerns about the design’s ethical implications.

Social Media Outrage
The video quickly went viral, with people on social media reacting negatively to the feature.
Some felt the design was unsafe and poorly thought out, even suggesting that whoever came up with it might need help.
Others were upset, with a few calling the setup outright disgusting.
Many also found the feature uncomfortable. Some felt it wasn’t there to help women check their appearance but instead allowed men to look at them inappropriately.
Many shared similar feelings, saying the whole idea is “sick.”
One person even stated that they had a shy bladder and said this kind of setup would be especially stressful and difficult for them.
Theme Park’s Defense
According to The Daily Mail, when the feature was first introduced in 2019, Dream World’s Operations Director, Thawat Yamkasem, explained that it was meant to be a “fun experience for everyone.”
He said the glass used in the mirror allowed those inside to see outside, while those outside would only see a reflection.
However, the backlash suggests that many visitors did not see it as a fun addition but rather as an invasion of privacy.
How the Two-Way Mirror Works
Two-way mirrors are made with a special coating reflecting light on one side, while the other allows people to see through.
To conduct a two-way mirror test, simply place a finger on the mirror. If there is a gap between your finger and its reflection, it’s a regular mirror. If there is no gap, it could be a two-way mirror.

This creates the unsettling effect that allows men inside the restroom to see out, while women and children outside only see their reflection.
Ongoing Debate
While Dream World originally defended the installation as a fun addition, the overwhelming reaction showed that it may not be the kind of “fun” people were hoping for.
As of now, it’s unclear whether the two-way mirror is still in place at the park, but given the backlash, it might not last much longer.
