A male teacher from a primary school in Dengkil, Selangor, is being investigated by the police over concerns about his interactions with a 12-year-old student.

According to Sinar Harian, the student’s father filed a police report on February 26, 2025, after noticing that his daughter had frequent contact with the teacher through TikTok, Love8 (an app for couples that helps strengthen relationships), and WhatsApp.

Messages Raised Concerns
Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, said an initial investigation found that the teacher’s messages appeared questionable and did not reflect a typical teacher-student relationship.

The Father’s Suspicions
The student’s father became suspicious after discovering messages exchanged between his daughter and the teacher on multiple social media platforms.

The content of these messages raised concerns, prompting him to file a police report. Additionally, the teacher is believed to have used these platforms to communicate with the student privately.
Six Statements Recorded, Phones Seized
In a further development, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan later confirmed that six individuals had given statements to assist in the investigation.
These include the student, her father, two teachers (one of whom is the suspect), and two other students.

Police have also seized the mobile phones of both the student and the teacher for forensic analysis, Bernama reports.
He added that the investigation is nearly complete, pending a medical report from the hospital before the case is referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.
Background of the Student and Teacher
Hussein stated that the student is an excellent academic performer, actively involved in extracurricular activities, and has no history of disciplinary issues.
He also stated that the teacher, who has been with the school for five years, has a clean disciplinary record and consistently received high performance ratings.
Additionally, the teacher is also a divorcee and father of three .
Authorities Urge Public Not to Speculate
The case is being investigated under Section 15(a)(iii) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
Authorities advised the public against speculating or spreading unverified information as investigations are ongoing.
