The Grande Whisky Museum (TGWM) recently played host to a thrilling event that combined the world of high-speed racing with the sophistication of rare whiskies. SPEED FOR FUN 2023, which took placeon8September, marked an exhilarating start to the Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS), supported by the Singapore Tourism Board.
Kicking off the evening was Ivy Chee, Head of Marketing & Events at TGWM, who set the stage for what promised to be an unforgettable experience. The event’s highlight, a guided tour of TGWM’s world-renowned whisky vault, captivated attendees. This collection, valued at a staggering SGD 128,630,196, holds the Guinness World Record for the “Most Valuable Whisky/Whiskey Collection,” featuring over 7,000bottles of rare and vintage spirits, some of which are no longer in production.
Guests embarked on a journey through the history and art of whisky-making, guided by experts who shared fascinating insights into this age-old craft. The event continued with a delightful cocktail tasting session, featuring eight racing-inspired cocktails that captured the essence of Singapore’s iconic night race track.
But the excitement did not stop there. Attendees had the chance to test their racing skills on a professional Racing Simulator, offering a virtual experience that replicated the thrill of driving a racing car on the Singapore Night Race track. The state-of-the-art SIMFAI Solutions MPRS technology provided an immersive experience, complete with the sights, sounds, and sensations of real racing.
As the sun set, a Supercar Showcase unfolded, featuring prestigious brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche, Aston Martin, RUF and more. The display of 15 supercars was a visual spectacle that embodied automotive excellence.
Throughout the evening, curated music mixes elevated the excitement, merging the worlds of music and racing for an adrenaline-pumping experience.
