Working abroad opens up new experiences and opportunities for many Singaporeans. A Singaporean professional recently said that after four years of working in Sweden, she obtained permanent residency (PR). According to her, this experience has helped her understand the various aspects of living and working abroad.

She initially started working in Sweden on a two-year work permit. Later, it was extended for another two years. After completing four years, her company helped her apply for PR and the process was relatively easy.
PR Provides Flexibility
She said that a big advantage of getting PR is that even if she loses her job, she does not have to leave the country immediately. As a result, it is a bit easier to plan for the future. However, at the same time, she realized that as a Singaporean, she has some special advantages in working abroad.

Because she can easily return to his home country if necessary. According to her, Singapore’s stable environment and employment opportunities create great security for citizens working abroad.
New Experiences Abroad
Working abroad provides valuable experience for many Singaporeans. New cultures, work environments and people enrich life. This is also the case for this professional. While working in Sweden, she learned about different lifestyles and work styles.

At the same time, her confidence in working in an international workplace has increased. Therefore, she believes that working abroad, even for a few years, can be a positive experience for many.
Advantages of Singapore
She also said that working abroad can be relatively less stressful for Singaporeans. Because there is always the opportunity to return to their own country if necessary. The stable economy and employment prospects in Singapore create security for many.

As a result, it is easier to find the courage to try something new abroad. This advantage is often not available to citizens of other countries. Therefore, she has particularly appreciated this strength of Singapore.
Change of Perspective
The experience of working abroad has also changed her perspective. While working with colleagues from different countries, she has understood that for many, living abroad is a big need. Some come to another country in the hope of a better career or a better future.

Others want to live abroad in search of security and stability. These experiences have helped her better understand global realities. Ultimately, she believes that working abroad broadens not only his career but also her outlook on life.
