The announcement of the launch of a new high-density Wi-Fi 7 network for the Singapore Sports Hub at the Cisco Live event in the Asia-Pacific region has sparked a lot of discussion in the technology community.
The multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex in Kallang attracts thousands of visitors every day, and the initiative is being taken to make their experience even smoother.

High-speed internet and advanced digital services will be available throughout the area, from the National Stadium to the retail zone. The entire project will be completed by the first half of 2026, according to the management company Kallang Alive Sport Management (KASM). This makes the Singapore Sports Hub the first sports venue in the world to adopt Wi-Fi 7 technology.
AI-Powered Network
The project is led by M1, and Cisco is providing technical support. The Cisco Wireless CW9179F—the world’s first enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 7 certified access point—is being used. Their modular design will make the network more scalable and durable.

In addition, AI-powered radio resource management and Cisco AI Assistant will set new standards in network monitoring and optimization. The connection will be more stable even in times of crowding, signal stress, or multiple smartphone use.
Big Changes In The Experience
The new Wi-Fi 7 network will not only increase speed, but also make the stadium experience more interactive. Spectators will be able to enjoy instant multi-angle streaming, replays or live stats.

Augmented reality (AR) will create the possibility of player or performer information floating in front of them. Content or offers according to personal preferences will also reach the user’s device.
In addition, ticketing and payment will be more seamless and waiting lines will be reduced.

Smart Operation Facilities
AI-native security included in the network will automatically detect and prevent threats. Cisco Spaces will play a key role in analyzing crowd movements, which will strengthen the security system at large events. AgenticOps will be used for operational management, which will simplify the work of the IT team.

The network will also be able to perform in special conditions, such as the retractable roof of the National Stadium or the location outside the stadium with 20,000 spectators. These advantages will serve as the basis for improving all future technology-based services.

Global Example
The project was presented as an international example at the Cisco Live conference in Melbourne. Nestle is running Cisco-based networks in 188 countries around the world, which has ensured 99.97% uptime.
The University of Otago in New Zealand is also using the same technology for high-density users on a large campus. These examples further strengthen the global value of the Singapore Sports Hub project. Experts believe that the improved network will show the direction of future smart venues.
