Singapore HDB or Victorian Estate?—Singapore’s Victorian-Style Transformation

A modern Victorian-style house in Singapore is showcasing the idea that housing is not just a place to live but also a reflection of personality and lifestyle. The design and concept of this house caught the attention of viewers in a recently released house tour video. The dominance of white, fine craftsmanship and the use of light and shade have given this house a different dimension.

According to the owner, this design carries a timeless and classic feel. This is an example of how traditional design can be beautifully adapted even in modern HDB flats in Singapore.

Design Inspiration

The main design inspiration for this house is the ‘Modern Victorian’ style. The white color, along with the wall paneling, wainscoting and the delicate work of the ceiling, has given the house a noble look. The owner said that he chose the details of the design himself.

However, the overall layout of the house was created by interior design company ‘Udai Interior.’ This aesthetic environment was possible due to the coordination of both parties.

Dining and Living

The dining area is considered one of the highlights of the house. The use of lighting, walls and furniture here has given it a distinct identity. The designers wanted to keep the living and dining areas clearly separate.

Even a small space has been utilized to create a secret compartment for storing tissues. Both functionality and beauty have been maintained in this.

Reflection of Faith

The presence of religious faith is clearly visible in this house. Special arrangements have been made to remind people of prayer times. The use of golden color here has created a combination of faith and aesthetics.

According to the owner, it is very important to be spiritually stable in one’s own home. This idea is reflected in the design of the house.

Kitchen and Corridor

A specially designed door has been used to separate the kitchen from the living room. The use of wooden colors in the kitchen has made it warm and comfortable. The corridor looks a lot like the entrance of a hotel. Half-height paneling and lighting bring continuity to the entire house. This also impresses guests.

Family and Life

This house has a separate office room, guest room and children’s room. The owner runs a hijab brand, which is also stocked in the house. According to the couple, communication and understanding are the keys to a happy marriage. The design of the house has made their family life more beautiful.
