A video that recently went viral on social media in Singapore has touched the hearts of many people. An exceptional and emotional tea ceremony was held in a hospital room, amidst medical equipment. The important ceremony of his daughter’s marriage was performed in front of a father on his deathbed.

This scene is not just a family moment but has become a reflection of the values, responsibility and love that are common in many Singaporean families.

Hospital Tea Ceremony

In the video, the bride’s father is seen lying on a white bed, physically very weak. He could not speak, but he was still expressing his feelings with his eyes and hand movements. The groom, dressed in a dark suit, slowly and carefully placed his hand on his father-in-law’s head. Then he offered the tea to his father from a small red cup.

The father took the tea with difficulty, which gave the moment even deeper meaning. The bride, standing next to him, was watching the whole scene with teary eyes in her white dress.

Race Against Time

The tea ceremony was originally scheduled to take place in January 2026, on the wedding day. However, in September 2025, the father’s condition deteriorated rapidly. Doctors said he had only a few hours left.

In that situation, the family decided to perform the ritual early without delay. The ceremony ended by 5 pm and that night, at around 4 am, the father peacefully breathed his last. It is known that he was suffering from a relapse of colon cancer.

Silent Blessing

Although the father could not speak, he folded his hands after receiving the tea. Many saw this gesture as a silent request to his son-in-law for his daughter’s future safety. This moment reveals a father’s last sense of responsibility and love. The groom also stood firmly by his side at that moment, which is clearly captured in the video. This scene evoked deep emotions in many viewers.

Netizens’ Feelings

After the video was released, many netizens expressed their reactions. Many said it was a relief for a father to receive such reassurance before leaving his child. Some commented that the scene of the father’s helpless hands clasped together had deeply moved them.

Others saw respect and maturity reflected in the groom’s behavior. Several parents said the video had made them think about their own children’s future.

At the same time, many wished the couple a long and happy married life.
