Sex Work Payment Dispute Turns Violent: Man Beaten in Pattaya

An Indian national has been beaten up in Thailand’s popular tourist city of Pattaya. Allegedly, a group of transgender women attacked the man in public over a dispute over wages. The video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.

The man was later admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. Thai police said the matter is under investigation.

Details of the Incident

The injured man has been identified as Raj Jasuja, 52, an Indian national. The incident took place in the early hours of 27 December, 2025, at the entrance to Pattaya’s famous Walking Street.

According to the complaint, he had an argument with a transgender woman over payment for sex. The argument quickly escalated into violence. Witnesses said the situation got out of control.

Viral Video

A video circulating on social media shows Raj Jasuja being dragged out of a car. He is then kicked and hit with slippers by multiple people. Although some onlookers nearby saw the incident, no one intervened immediately.

After the video went public, many have raised questions about safety. Concerns have increased, especially about the impact of such incidents in tourist areas.

Eyewitness Statement

A 19-year-old Thai woman told rescue workers that initially there was a heated argument between the two. Then they started chasing and hitting each other. After some time, several more transgender women joined the scene.

As a result, the situation became more horrific. The young woman claimed that the attack was carried out in a group.

Treatment and Investigation

Rescue workers reached the scene at around 5:30 am after receiving information. They found injury marks on Raj Jasuja’s face and back of the head. After initial treatment, he was taken to Patamakun Hospital.

According to doctors, his condition is stable, but he needs to be hospitalized. Police said that a formal complaint will be taken from him once he recovers, and CCTV and video footage are being examined.
