A massive fire broke out in an apartment unit on the eighth floor of a residential building in the Persiaran Banggi Avenue area of Selangor. The fire that broke out on Sunday night almost completely destroyed a large part of the flat.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that although there were no casualties in the fire, the extent of the damage was significant. It was initially reported that a large amount of fireworks was stored in the flat. As a result, the fire spread quickly, and the situation became more dangerous.
After the Emergency Call
According to media reports, the Selangor JBPM received an emergency call at 10:42 pm on Sunday. Immediately after receiving the call, a team from the Banggi Fire and Rescue Station headed to the scene.

Later, personnel from the Semenyih station also joined them in their assistance. Fire service vehicles and members arrived at the scene at 10:55 pm. At that time, fire and smoke were spreading from inside the flat. Panic spread among the residents in the area.
Fire on the Eighth Floor
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Director Mohd Fadzli Jusni said the fire broke out in an apartment unit on the eighth floor. The unit was approximately 60 by 20 square feet in size.

About 80 percent of one room was burned in the fire. Dangerous explosives, especially fireworks, were stored in that room. However, he confirmed that fortunately no one was injured in the incident.
Fireworks in Every Room
Further investigation revealed more worrying information. Fire and rescue officials said that the fireworks were stored not only in one room but throughout the entire flat. Due to this, it is feared that the fire could have taken a more serious form.

Officials said that it created a major risk in residential areas. Keeping such explosives in the house is dangerous from both legal and safety points. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
Fire Under Control
After long efforts, the fire was brought under control at 11:19 pm. The firefighters then began the overhaul work. They worked to extinguish the remaining fire and sparks. At the same time, they checked whether there was a risk of any future explosion. A total of 13 firefighters participated in the entire operation. Their main goal was to ensure the safety of the residents.
