A Record-Breaking Walk in Shanghai

People in Shanghai were amazed when a humanoid robot named Agibot A2 completed a journey of more than 100 km, earning a new recognition from Guinness World Records. According to the video , the robot walked a total of 106.286 km during a three-day challenge that took place between Suzhou and Shanghai.

The walk started in the evening and continued across highways, city streets and crowded areas before the robot finally reached the famous Bund waterfront area.

Advanced Features Behind the Achievement

The robot was created by the Chinese company behind the Agibot A2, which is a 5.74-foot-tall machine weighing around 55 kg. It was equipped with AI-powered tools that help it understand text, sound and visual surroundings.

Lidar and infrared depth cameras helped the robot walk safely through changing light and busy streets. The company said the robot used for the challenge was a standard commercial model without any special upgrades.

Designed for Stability and Long Hours

Developers explained that the robot was tested for many months to avoid falling during long walks. It even completed a 24-hour non-stop walk in extremely hot weather back in August.

Engineers said the robot’s stable movement and balance system were important for handling rough roads and crowded environments during the record attempt.

Three Days on Foot Across Two Cities

The journey began in Suzhou and continued step by step toward Shanghai, covering highways, quiet streets and busy crossings. The robot moved at a steady speed and was monitored by a support team to ensure safety.

When it arrived in Shanghai after almost three days of walking, it briefly interacted with reporters, joking that it might “need a new pair of shoes” after such a long trip.

What Makes the Robot Special

The Agibot A2 is not only built for walking. The company said it can also perform multilingual conversation, recognise faces, guide visitors and even complete small delivery tasks.

These features show the robot’s potential for use in public spaces, businesses and future smart cities.

A Major Step for Future Robotics

The company behind the Agibot project said the successful walk shows improvements in hardware strength, battery life and balance control. They believe these abilities will play a major role in making humanoid robots useful in daily life.

They also noted that many people find it difficult to walk such a long distance from Suzhou to Shanghai, yet the robot completed it without stopping.

Growing Interest in Humanoid Technology

The achievement quickly gained attention across China as people watched the progress through shared videos and online posts. Many see this record as a sign of rapid development in robotics and AI technology. Engineers say more tests and public demonstrations will follow as companies prepare to introduce robots into more real-world environments.

Some people can’t believe it, and they’re asking several questions.
