Rajinikanth recently revealed that he is close to wrapping up his highly-anticipated sequel, “Jailer 2”.
The legendary star recently spoke to the media, where he shared several updates about his ongoing and upcoming projects, including the said film.
Said Rajinikanth, “Jailer 2 is almost completed and is in the finishing stage of production. The release date will be announced by the production team soon.”
The original film, penned and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is an action-comedy that starred the actor as a retired jailer who sets out to apprehend an eccentric idol smuggler threatening his family.
The movie co-stars Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sunil, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa in supporting roles. It became the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2023 and the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
The sequel was announced back in January 2025.
