The Immigration Department has arrested 40 foreigners in a raid on a three-story luxury bungalow in an elite residential area of Kuala Lumpur. The special operation was conducted late Thursday night, 12 February, at the house located in Persiaran Richi, Desa Pahlawan.

The authorities said the operation was carried out based on public information and two weeks of intelligence surveillance. Initial investigations suggest that the bungalow was being used as a center for illegal and immoral activities. The arrested persons are aged between 21 and 43.
Main Ringleader Arrested
A Chinese national, who is suspected of being the mastermind of the ring, was arrested in the raid. 11 other Chinese men and 19 Chinese women were also arrested along with him. Five Vietnamese, two Myanmar nationals and two Japanese women were also arrested.

Officials said the rooms inside the house had been specially modified. This suggests that organized activities had been going on here for a long time.
Online Target
Investigations revealed that a Chinese male worker used to look for clients online. He mainly targeted foreign and local Chinese customers. The service charged RM1,000 for 45 minutes and RM3,500 for 90 minutes.

Authorities believe the syndicate had been operating covertly for about six months. They were able to avoid detection by staying in upscale areas.
Legal Action
Initial checks showed that some of the main suspects, including the main suspect, had valid passes. However, no valid travel documents were found for the others. All those arrested have been taken to the Putrajaya Immigration Office for further action.

A Singaporean man and a local man have also been issued with a notice to cooperate with the investigation. Authorities said they will continue to crack down on any activities that violate the country’s laws.
