The crowded Causeway Bay of Hong Kong was a fairytale dreamed in reality on the Saturday night when the streets were shrouded in gigantic shining puppets filled with lights and music.

The event was one of the 2026 Standard Chartered Arts Carnival, which came back with a special highlight known as the Night Glow Parade. Shopping streets and high-rise buildings were turned into a floating stage during one evening, which stunned local people and visitors.
One Night Full of Light and Wonder.
Lee Gardens and Hysan Place were surrounded with massive lighted puppets as the night came. There were characters of the well-known story Pinocchio wandering around the crowd slowly. Individuals could observe Pinocchio himself, his creator Geppetto, the crafty Sly Fox and the terrifying Dogfish. The puppets have been well illuminated and designed and they appeared to be alive as they were moving across the city streets.

Numerous audience members paused to take pictures, enjoy the moment and observe. People thought that it was not like it used to be, that it was happier and more pleasant than ever. The sounds of soft music, drums and saxophone followed the parade, which contributed to the magic. Instead of traffic noises that filled the streets, there was laughter and applause.
Actors Take the Streets Live.
One could see performers in shining costumes dancing and moving to the music under the floating puppets. Dancers, acrobats and street artists lit up with LED lights and moved across the crowd to ensure they felt like being a part of the performance. To the amazed gaze of children the parade moved on, with adults smiling and following it as it passed.

One actor who was portraying a character of Pinocchio said that it was a special part. The wardrobe, lamps, and the plot contributed to the performer reaching the audience. Numerous individuals stood and stopped only to observe the dancers spin and shine in the dark streets.
A Carnival Loved by Many
The Night Glow Parade did not consist of puppets and lights only. It was also a festival of creativity as well as community art. The 25th Anniversary of the Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Carnival in Hong Kong took place this year. The event has been able to bring art to day to day life over the years through the use of parks, the streets and the open space in general.

When the parade was disbanded the crowds gradually dispersed, still discussing the spectacle seen. Causeway Bay was not only a shopping center but one night. It turned out to be a land of fantasy, color and memories to remember.
