A Thai police colonel is under investigation after being caught using a cheat sheet during an exam for a judge position.
The Royal Thai Police (RTP) confirmed that he could face suspension or dismissal if found guilty.
Officer Caught Using Cheat Sheet
The incident occurred on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus during an exam for judge appointments at the Administrative Court of First Instance.

According to reports, exam supervisors noticed the officer referring to a cheat sheet containing legal information while answering questions.
However, the Administrative Court later confirmed that no exam leak had occurred, stating that the materials he brought in contained legal provisions but did not include court rulings or direct answers to the test questions, The Thaiger reports.
Officer Identified and Removed from Exam
The officer was immediately removed from the exam room for questioning. Bangkok Post reported that he later admitted to cheating during the exam.

While his name has not been disclosed, he is a deputy chief of the Administrative Division at Provincial Police Region 8 in Phuket.
Investigation and Official Response
Following the incident, National Police Chief Pol Gen Kittharath Punpetch ordered an official investigation.

Provincial Police Bureau 8, which oversees the officer’s unit, is handling the probe.
Possible Disciplinary Action
If found guilty, the officer could face suspension or dismissal, in line with Section 112(6) of the Police Act of 2022, which classifies cheating as a serious violation, damaging the reputation of the RTP.
“Cheating in an examination is a serious disciplinary offense, as it damages the Royal Thai Police’s reputation,” said RTP spokesman Pol Lt Gen Archayon Kraithong.
The Pathum Thani police chief has been instructed to coordinate with the Administrative Court to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.
Authorities Stress Accountability
The RTP has emphasized that strict action will be taken against the officer if he is found guilty. Meanwhile, Provincial Police Bureau 8 has submitted a preliminary report on the case.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses, as reported by Nation Thailand.
Social Media Reactions
The video quickly spread online, with many questioning how the officer thought he could get away with cheating so blatantly.
Some were stunned that he dared to bring an entire folder of notes into the exam, suggesting he must have assumed no one would dare to check him.
Others worried about the consequences for the exam supervisors who caught him, speculating that they might face backlash for exposing a high-ranking officer.
Many also pointed out that if he had managed to pass the exam, it raised serious concerns about the kind of judge he would have become.
Some even joked that while his career might be over, the real trouble could be for those who reported him.

@thesmartlocalth An invigilator caught a senior police officer, ranked Pol. Col., attempting to cheat during the Administrative Court Judge entrance exam. The officer was found carrying unauthorised notes into the exam room, leading to his immediate disqualification and removal from the test. In his defence, the officer later claimed that he had printed his exam admission slip on an A4 sheet, folded it twice, and unknowingly brought along a small note he had written. However, video footage suggests otherwise, as the confiscated document appeared to be a full set of study materials rather than a mere note. Authorities have confirmed that disciplinary action will be taken, but whether the case qualifies as a serious offence will depend on further investigation in line with the Royal Thai Police regulations. .
