Man Pays RM5 (S$1.51) for 8 Pieces of Add-On Chicken, Left Unimpressed by Portion Size

The Order That Started It All

A Malaysian diner’s recent pasta order has caught the attention of social media users after he voiced dissatisfaction over the portion size of a chicken add-on he purchased.

The customer, who ordered from a local eatery, shared his experience in a TikTok video that quickly circulated online.

According to the clip, he ordered two pasta dishes: Mushroom Carbonara and Aglio e Olio, each with an additional serving of grilled chicken, priced at RM5 (S$1.51) for eight pieces.

“Eight Pieces” That Didn’t Meet Expectations

In the video, the man showed his order and displayed the grilled chicken pieces to the camera. Holding up the container, he questioned the size and quantity he received for the RM5 add-on.

“How is RM5 worth eight pieces this small?”

He then compared both pasta orders, noting that the grilled chicken servings appeared similar in size and quantity.

Social Media Reacts With Humour and Criticism

The video sparked a wave of comments, with some users joking about the chicken’s size and others calling for action.

Among the reactions were:

“What is this, for playing batu seremban?” (referring to a traditional game played with small stones/objects)

“Just report this to the authorities. Send them the video, this is too much.”

“They should’ve written 8 cubes instead.”

“If this happened to my dad, he’d be furious enough to go to the shop to teach them a lesson.”

“Some people don’t get it. The issue isn’t delivery charges. If he’s willing to pay RM5 for chicken, fine, but give a portion that matches the price. What is this tiny size?”

“Look closely,  it might be kibbles.”

“Looks like cat treats.”
