On a recent flight, a passenger believed to be of Vietnamese nationality caused a disruption by refusing to wear her seatbelt, leading to a confrontation with the cabin crew.
The altercation began when the woman accused the flight attendant of pointing a finger at her, prompting her to ignore repeated seatbelt requests.
The flight attendant, clearly frustrated, stood her ground and pointed out the safety rule applied to everyone, including the woman’s child.
She told the passenger to stop yelling, insisting that the seatbelt request was for their collective safety.
Authorities Called In to Handle Situation
As the situation escalated, the airline decided to involve airport authorities.
In a follow-up TikTok post, Fegie, a fellow passenger and the original poster of the video shared how officials boarded the plane to address the disruption.
The cabin crew seemed to explain the situation to the airport police to de-escalate and solve the situation.
Eventually, the disruptive passenger was escorted off the plane by airport police, prompting cheers from the passengers.
The Aftermath and Reactions
In the aftermath, Fegie shared more details about the incident. One commenter stated,
“Usually, when someone behaves like that, the airport authorities will forcibly take them down.”
Fegie confirmed that, in the end, the passenger was escorted off the plane by airport police, but the passenger still had to wait for her luggage to be removed, causing further delay.
However, some commenters didn’t seem too concerned, with one remarking that it was the woman’s choice if she didn’t want to wear the seatbelt, suggesting the risk was hers alone to bear.
In response to this, another commenter disagreed, warning that if the plane were to experience extreme turbulence or an emergency, the woman would be tossed around like a ragdoll, potentially causing harm to herself and others on board.

Incidents like these shed light on the importance of following flight safety instructions. Seatbelts are a crucial part of ensuring the safety of all passengers, especially during takeoff, landing, or in unexpected turbulence.
While it might seem like a minor issue, refusing to comply can lead to significant delays and cause unnecessary stress for everyone on board.
