The 98th Academy Awards at Dolby Theater was supposed to be a celebration of huge accomplishments. There were a lot of stars who came to Hollywood with a hope of winning. However, there was one particular moment that suddenly became discomforting and the audience flabbergasted.

It was the first time a K-pop song was awarded the Best Original Song. The Golden song of KPop Demon Hunters became history. The first South Koreans to win this category were singers EJAE, Ido and producer Teddy Park. It was a personal and touchy moment on stage.

A Historic Win Interrupted

EJAE opened the speech with enthusiasm and joyfulness. She was grateful to the Academy and expressed her emotions. The climate was conducive and favorable. But the moment was not very long.

The music began to play when one of the other team members, Yu Han Lee, went forward to speak. It is normally an invitation to winners to exit and move off. But too soon this time it came. The speech did not get a chance to finish properly as it was cut off.

Awkward Ending on Stage

The music was abrupt and confusing. Mark Sonnenblick, one of the winners, seemed to be quite upset. He responded with vehemence when the group attempted to proceed talking. It was such a crucial victory that it felt as though it were in a hurry.

The case was unique in that the other winners before the event received a longer time. This increased the level of unfairness. To mark a historic accomplishment, most people thought there should have been a more lengthy and honorable speech.

This tense moment notwithstanding, there were other large highlights in the night. Jessie Buckley was also the winner of Best Actress in Hamnet. She was an emotional speaker and talked lovingly of her family. Meanwhile, Best Actor was won by Michael B. Jordan who had been in the business over many years and it was the first Oscar he received.

Despite these celebrations the interrupted speech was one of the most discussed factors that night.
