In a TikTok video that has since gone viral with over 2.8 million views, she recorded a uniformed officer allegedly inviting her to “hang out” and suggesting they check into a hotel.

Officer Allegedly Asked Woman Where She Lived and Requested Her Socials

To make matters more uncomfortable for the woman, the officer allegedly asked where she lived and requested her social media handle, which she declined to share.

When she refused his advances, he reportedly persisted, asking her to “just spend 10 minutes” with him at a nearby staircase.

However, she told him she had work the next day and needed to leave.

Initial Plan to File Report Dropped After Dismissive Response

Following the encounter, she visited a police station to file a report. However, she claimed officers downplayed the incident.

“The police accused me of always going to clubs, so they said it’s normal for men to invite me to check in,” she shared in her update.

Feeling dismissed and disheartened, she chose not to file a formal report.

Instead, she encouraged others to record and share such interactions publicly if they ever found themselves in similar situations.

Her Clarification: Why She Stayed Calm and Recorded

In response to criticism and questions, the woman later posted a video explaining the full sequence of events and why she responded the way she did.

  • That night, she had parked her motorcycle near the Pandan Perdana police station for safety reasons before walking to meet her friend.
  • She then left with her friend in her friend’s car.
  • Around 3 a.m., after taking a Grab ride back, she was dropped off about two minutes from where she had parked.

That is when the officer approached her.

According to her, the conversation started casually but turned uncomfortable when he repeatedly asked her to hang out at a nearby staircase. She began feeling uncomfortable, especially since they were alone and he was in uniform.

“I didn’t expect him to say anything about checking in,” she said. “But when he kept insisting we go to the stairs, I felt like I had no choice but to start recording.”

She feared that if she refused or reacted harshly, the officer might twist the story against her, particularly because she had also left her identification card and money at home.

“I know I looked calm, but I was scared. I was really scared,” she added.

In her clarification video, she added that while attempting to make a police report, she said officers questioned why she recorded the officer while he was on duty and implied she was wrong for making the video go viral.

“They told me, ‘He made a mistake, but so did you, for posting the video,’” she said.

Additionally, she also clarified that she gave the officer her number under pressure, just to get out of the situation safely.

Officer Suspended as Investigation Opens

After the viral video circulated, Ampang Jaya Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail confirmed the video was discovered on Saturday, 14 June 2025, at around 5:00 p.m. by the head of the Pandan Indah police station.

The officer involved has been identified and removed from active duty, Sinar Harian reported.

The police are investigating under two laws:

  • Section 509 of the Penal Code (words or gestures intended to insult modesty)
  • Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (improper use of network facilities)

If found guilty, the officer could face jail, fines, or both.

Apology Facilitated by Activist, Case Considered ‘Closed’

Following this, rapper and activist Caprice stepped in to mediate a meeting between the woman and the police officer via his TikTok podcast.

During the session, when asked if she would consider the matter ‘closed’ if the officer apologised, the woman nodded, indicating she was ready to put the incident behind her.

Moments later, the officer appeared in the video.

While the full conversation was not made public, Caprice confirmed that the officer had issued an apology, both during the session and in a separate video call to the woman’s grandmother.

“It’s resolved. The officer apologised. Thank you to everyone who helped,” Caprice said on his Instagram post.

While the officer has been suspended and investigations are ongoing, the case has sparked a much-needed conversation about dignity, safety, and accountability, especially for women navigating public spaces.
