China’s largest Hunan Restaurant Chain, Nong Geng Ji, is expanding with 3 new outlets in Singapore.
Nong Geng Ji Hunan Home-Style Cuisine (农耕记湖南土菜), one of China’s largest and most popular restaurant chains, is expanding to Singapore with the opening of three new outlets by the end of 2024.
The chain is known for serving spicy, bold, and flavorful Hunan cuisine, and its expansion is a response to the growing demand for authentic Chinese food in Singapore.
Founded in 2017 by Chef Feng Guohua (known as Uncle Hua) in Shenzhen, Nong Geng Ji has become a favorite in China, with over 100 locations across the country. The restaurant is known for its traditional Hunan dishes, which use fresh ingredients and lots of chili, garlic, and pickled vegetables.
Now, Singaporeans can look forward to tasting these vibrant dishes at three new locations: Great World, orchardgateway, and City Square Mall.
What Makes Hunan Cuisine Special?
Hunan cuisine, also called Xiang cuisine, is famous for its bold, spicy flavors. Unlike other regional Chinese cuisines, Hunan dishes are often very hot, thanks to the generous use of fresh chilies and garlic.
The cuisine also uses unique ingredients like pickled vegetables and fermented sauces, giving the dishes a depth of flavor that stands out.
At Nong Geng Ji, you can try signature dishes like Stir-Fried Pork with Abalone and Chili (S$28.80),
Signature Grass Fish Fillet with Chili (S$26.80), and Dry Pot Pork Intestine with Sauerkraut (S$24.80).
These dishes are famous in Singapore for their authentic taste and spicy kick. If you love bold, flavorful food, Nong Geng Ji is the place to go!
