Caught on Camera: Restaurant Worker Spits in Burger, Allegedly Over Dispute With Customer

An employee at a Russian fast food outlet is facing heavy backlash online after secretly being recorded spitting into a burger, an action he later said was his response to an intense argument with the customer.

The incident took place on Monday, July 14, 2025, at a Tasty Dot drive-thru in Rostov, according to The Sun.

The customer, who reportedly clashed with the employee while placing an order, became suspicious of the worker’s behavior and began recording the preparation process through the window.

Spit Covered With Patty Slice Before Serving

The footage, which quickly went viral, showed the employee, identified as Nikita, preparing two quarter-pounder-style burgers.

In the video, Nikita is seen glancing over his shoulder to check if anyone was watching before bending down and spitting on one of the patties.

He then used his covered finger to smear the saliva across the surface before topping it with another slice of patty and boxing it up to be given to the customer at the drive-thru window.

Worker Says He Was Provoked

Following backlash online, Nikita defended himself. He claimed that the customer had been verbally aggressive and even threatened physical violence.

“Some of them shouted, insulted me, and ordered me to hurry up. Then they promised to get out of the car and hit me,” he said.

Worker Immediately Fired by Restaurant

In response to the viral footage, Tasty Dot confirmed that Nikita had been terminated. The chain stated that his behavior was unacceptable and did not reflect the company’s standards.

Public Reaction

The video sparked intense criticism where users questioned how often this kind of behavior might go unnoticed.

One commenter questioned, “I wonder how many times he did this before getting caught.”

Another user expressed that simply firing the worker was not enough, stating that “it is a serious criminal offense and there should be more accountability than losing his job.”

The disturbing nature of the incident also led one commenter to reflect on the broader state of society, writing, “We are living in evil times.”

Others called for stricter consequences, with one user arguing that “this should be considered an assault or at least food tampering.”
