Police Confirm Head Injuries, No Break-In

Sepang District Police Chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman said authorities received a call regarding the discovery of the body at 10.28 am.

“Preliminary checks found injuries on the victim’s head. The body was sent to the Forensic Unit at Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said in a statement.

Additionally, investigators confirmed there were no signs of forced entry into the dorm unit.

Blunt Force Trauma Confirmed, Rape Ruled Out

Following this, the post-mortem later confirmed that Maniishapriet died due to blunt force trauma to the head. Police found no injuries consistent with sexual assault, ruling out rape.

Authorities are currently treating the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Missing CCTV Footage and Other Reports

Police found that CCTV footage from the building corridors was unavailable as no cameras were installed in those areas. Additionally, the elevator camera was not functioning at the time of the incident, Scoop reported.

Earlier, Guang Ming Daily had reported that a towel with traces of semen was found at the scene.

However, police confirmed that no evidence of sexual assault was found, and only blunt force injuries were observed.

Suspect Used Victim’s ATM Card After Killing

In a new update reported by NST, police revealed that the suspect used Maniishapriet’s bank card to withdraw cash shortly after the killing.

ACP Norhizam said investigators detected five to six transactions made in various locations around Kuala Lumpur.

“The suspect began making withdrawals using the victim’s bank card not long after she was killed,” he said.

The victim’s bank card was one of several items reported missing from the scene, along with a laptop, mobile phone, and cash.

He added that the police are actively working to identify the suspect and locate his whereabouts.

Police Appeal for Information

ACP Norhizam also reminded the public not to circulate unfounded claims or misinformation that might interfere with the investigation.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Investigating Officer Mohd Husny Hussien or report it to the nearest police station.
