In the early morning of February 19, a highway in Kemaman, Terengganu, Malaysia turned into an impromptu egg collection site after a lorry carrying 78,000 eggs overturned at Kilometer 293.8 of the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), near the Chukai Toll Plaza exit.
Crash Leaves Eggs Smashed Across the Road
The accident happened around 5:30 AM when another truck carrying frozen goods crashed into the egg-laden lorry from behind. Fortunately, both the 40-year-old driver and his 25-year-old assistant, Mohd. Izzat Izzudin escaped unharmed.
However, their cargo wasn’t as lucky—eggs were scattered across the road, with many cracked and broken.

Locals and Motorists Grab Baskets for Free Eggs
Despite the morning crash, the scene quickly turned into an ‘egg-cellent’ opportunity for passersby and residents, who rushed to collect the salvageable eggs—some even bringing baskets.

According to Mohd. Izzat, their company permitted people to take the eggs since many were already damaged. “The owner allowed it,” he told Kosmo!
Additionally, one local rushed over with his son after spotting a viral video of the accident on social media.
He mentioned that he only collected the eggs after knowing the company had given permission and planned to share them with his neighbors.
No Injuries Reported as Traffic Returns to Normal
While the incident briefly caused congestion, no injuries were reported and this incident left netizens amused.
