Lies linking me with Epstein need to end today! – US First Lady denies ties with late sex offender, says email to Maxwell was ‘polite reply.’

US First Lady Melania Trump denied ties with Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell in Washington DC on Thursday, as she spoke out for the first time on the issue in a rare public statement.

“I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice, Maxwell. My email reply to Maxwell cannot be categorised as anything more than casual correspondence. My polite reply to her email doesn’t amount to anything more than a trivial note. I am not Epstein’s victim. Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump,” Melania said.

“The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today. The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility, and respect,” she added.

The emails were released earlier this year by the Department of Justice alongside millions of files; one of them was signed with ‘Love, Melania’, while Maxwell called Melania ‘sweet pea’. She clarified that she had met Epstein at parties since overlapping in social circles was ‘common’ in Palm Beach and New York.

“I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant, was never on Epstein’s plane, and never visited his private island,” Trump said, urging people to stop smear campaigns against her. She also called on Congress to hold a hearing for Epstein survivors.

“Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony […] Then and only then we will have the truth,” she said.

Her out-of-the-blue media briefing comes after US President Donald Trump fired US Attorney General Pam Bondi over the Epstein files and their handling last week.
