iShowSpeed’s Southeast Asian Tour: Highlights from Thailand, Philippines, and Malaysia

Darren Jason Watkins Jr., better known as iShowSpeed or simply Speed, has captured attention across Southeast Asia with his energetic and dynamic presence.

His highly anticipated tour kicked off in Thailand on September 9, 2024, moved to the Philippines on September 11, made a brief stop in Cambodia on September 16, and continued in Malaysia on September 17.

Now bringing his signature energy to Singapore, let’s reflect on some of the standout moments from his journey through these vibrant countries.

Thailand: A Rollercoaster of Fun and Surprises

Fan Interaction in Bangkok

During his time in Bangkok, Speed engaged with local fans and immersed himself in the lively culture, creating unforgettable experiences along the way.

Sparring at a Muay Thai Gym

Speed had the opportunity to visit a Muay Thai gym, where he sparred with a local fighter. Though he didn’t win, his enthusiasm and determination made it a thrilling experience for spectators. It was a unique and authentic way for Speed to dive into Thailand’s rich sports culture.

Tuk-tuk Ride Mishap

While trying to experience Bangkok’s iconic tuk-tuks, Speed had a minor accident and bumped his head during the ride. Though it looked painful, he quickly recovered and was not badly injured afterward.

Trying a Seasoned Scorpion

In a daring culinary adventure, Speed decided to sample a seasoned scorpion, a popular street food in Thailand. Initially hesitant, he had two others try it before working up the courage himself.

His reaction to the crunchy bite was a mix of horror and surprise, and he quickly reached for water to wash it down!

Elephant Ride Adventure

As part of his Thai experience, Speed took an elephant ride, a popular tourist activity. However, when it was time to dismount, he had a close call, nearly falling off the elephant.

Luckily, the staff were quick to catch him, preventing any mishap. This thrilling moment became one of the standout highlights of his time in Thailand.

A Surprising Date Revelation

One of the most talked-about moments from Speed’s visit was his unexpected discovery that the girl he was on a date with was actually a ladyboy.

His reaction was one of sheer disbelief; he immediately looked away and struggled to maintain eye contact. This surprising revelation left him in a state of shock and bewilderment.

Exploring Thai Culture

In addition to these exciting activities, Speed took time to explore Thai culture, from visiting landmarks to trying traditional dishes. His videos and posts showed how much he enjoyed and appreciated the local culture.

Philippines: Heartwarming and Hilarious Moments

Generous Gesture

During his stop in the Philippines on September 11, 2024, Speed touched the hearts of many with a generous act. After spotting a homeless family on the street, he asked his staff for money and handed it to a mother who was sleeping with her children.

His kindness was warmly received, showcasing the positive impact of his visit beyond the usual fan interactions.

Cat Meat Prank

During his time in the Philippines, Speed was the target of a prank that tested his taste buds. He was tricked into believing he was eating cat meat, and his initial reaction was pure shock, quickly followed by frustration. Convinced it was true, he grew visibly upset. 

After learning it was just a joke, Speed paid for his meal but left the restaurant still feeling frustrated. Despite the tension, his reaction added a humorous and light-hearted moment to his Philippine tour.

Showdown with Manny Pacquiao

One of the highlights of Speed’s visit to the Philippines was his friendly showdown with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. The match was filled with playful competitiveness, capturing the fun spirit Speed brought to his tour.

Despite his best efforts, Speed ended up losing the match, but the encounter added a memorable and entertaining chapter to his visit.

Malaysia: A Memorable Visit

Filling the Mall with Energy

On September 17, 2024, in Malaysia, Speed attracted a massive crowd, filling multiple floors of a bustling mall with excited fans chanting his name.

In a video, Speed himself appeared visibly shocked by the overwhelming turnout, expressing amazement at the sheer number of people who came to see him. 

Durian Dilemma

Speed’s culinary adventure in Malaysia took a comedic turn when he tried durian, the country’s infamous fruit known for its pungent smell.

While attempting to eat it, he hilariously choked, adding a lighthearted moment to his Malaysian experience. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the incident became a memorable part of his tour.

Drifting Fun

To cap off his Malaysian tour with a thrill, Speed joined a drifting session as a passenger. The high-energy ride added an extra layer of excitement to his visit. The exhilarating experience was a standout moment, showcasing Speed’s adventurous spirit.

Speed’s Southeast Asian tour has been packed with excitement, unforgettable moments, and heartwarming gestures.
