Huge Snake Added to Flood Fears as Southern Thailand Battled Rising Waters

The severe flooding caused by continuous heavy rains in southern Thailand has created a more complicated situation. A video of a huge snake slowly swimming through waist-deep water has gone viral on social media amid the concerns of people trapped in the water. 

After the video was released, new discussions have been created in the area along with fear. Locals believe that the snakes have entered residential areas after being forced to leave their homes.

The Horror of the Flood

Hat Yai, Songkhla and surrounding areas have been almost paralyzed by several days of continuous rain. Houses, markets, roads—everything is now under water. Many people are spending their days taking shelter on the second floors of their houses. 

Emergency boats and trucks have arrived and are rescuing those they can. However, there are no signs of the water receding, and several other areas have become isolated.

Panic in the Snake Video

Witnesses said that the snake was lost in the current of the water. Many say that they have never seen such a scene before. Seeing the snake floating on the flooded road has further increased the anxiety of the flood victims.

Locals fear that more wildlife may leave their habitats and enter human areas, creating new security challenges alongside rescue efforts.

Social Media Reactions

Many commented that the snake was so exhausted that it looked like it was going to drown – if it were in such a state, they would have tried to help. 

Some expressed regret that the snake was beautiful and that it had unfortunately washed up in a residential area. Others joked that such a large snake could become food for the entire neighborhood.
