House Cleaners Discover RM38K While Cleaning and Returned Them to Deceased Woman’s Daughter

It’s common to misplace money and belongings and forget about them. This happened to a deceased woman who had stashed her money in unusual places around her house and forgotten about it. A Malaysian cleaning team from F.I.8 Empire Cleaning Service was hired to clean out the home of a woman’s deceased mother, who had passed away five years ago. While they were tidying up and sorting through her things, they found RM38,000 in cash, foreign currencies, and some jewelry.

The find was captured in a TikTok video by user @/arulfaqrul in which the footage shows the team counting various Ringgit notes, including rare old RM20 notes.

While tidying the house, they unexpectedly discovered several stacks of Ringgit notes tucked between various items such as medicine bags and miscellaneous odds and ends.

Honesty and Integrity

In a subsequent video, they presented the recovered cash to the deceased woman’s daughter—a total of RM38,000 in separate stacks, along with foreign currencies and a box of jewelry. Their transparent handling of the discovery assured skeptical viewers of their trustworthiness and reliability.

Community Reactions

The discovery resonated with many netizens, who shared similar experiences of finding hidden money while cleaning homes. As of the time of writing, the video has garnered a total of 499 thousand views, 235 comments, and 1,193 shares.

“Same here… my late grandma was like that too… in pillowcases, in plastic bags, in tins… they were always tucked away somewhere… there was even money that got eaten by termites.”

“My late great-grandmother used to stash things away too, but we would always get scolded for it. She thought her money had been stolen, when in fact she had stashed it away. She was forgetful. When I was little, I was afraid to walk past her because she might get angry.”

A user jokingly commented, “I want to clean my grandma’s house, pity her she’s living alone.” This brought a reply by the owner of the video who jokingly remarked, “Hahaha ok go, who knows you’ll find it (money).”

Viewers also praised the team for their ethical conduct.

“Yes, they are good… trustworthy… They tidied up my Dad’s house recently too. They found almost RM4k. Congratulations to the young ones, may your blessings overflow..”
