Visitors gathered at Ho Chi Minh City’s Flower Street to celebrate the Lunar New Year, marking the Year of the Horse under the theme ‘Spring Gathering.’
Footage filmed on Thursday shows hundreds of visitors walking along the street decorated with flowers and lights, alongside large horse mascots symbolising the Year of the Horse. Visitors can be seen taking photos and videos of the displays.
“I found the flower street this year very beautiful, and the atmosphere was very lively. Everyone was cheerful and excited, which made me happy too,” said reveller Chi Dung.
“Each horse mascot here carries different symbolic meanings; the galloping horses here represent Ho Chi Minh City as it develops and moves towards a prosperous city,” another visitor, Minh Khoi, explained.
The annual event is being held on Nguyen Hue Street and, for the first time in its 23-year history, offers two distinct experiences, daytime and nighttime, within the same space.
Millions worldwide are marking the arrival of the Year of the Horse. The Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, is a major holiday across Asia, particularly in Chinese culture. The 15-day celebration runs from February 17 to March 3 this year.
