The discovery of the body of a young hairdresser in Batu Pahat, Johor, a few days after she went missing, has caused a stir in the area. The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) said the body of the young woman was recovered from her boyfriend’s house on January 30. Police have confirmed that her boyfriend killed her out of jealousy.

According to the complaint, the accused strangled the young woman to death by suffocating her with a pillow. The deceased young woman’s boyfriend believed that she was in a relationship with another man. The incident has raised new concerns about the safety of women in the public.
The Incident Behind the Murder
Batu Pahat District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulannuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the murder took place on January 27, the day the young woman went missing. However, her body was recovered three days later. An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation.

The initial police investigation revealed that the accused had been suffering from suspicion and jealousy for a long time. He took this terrible decision because of that suspicion. The police are investigating the matter with great seriousness.
Suicide Attempt
The police said that the accused himself attempted suicide after the incident. He cut his throat and left wrist with a sharp weapon. When the police reached the spot, he was found lying seriously injured next to the body. He was then quickly admitted to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment, and his condition is being monitored. The police said that a full interrogation will be conducted after his physical condition improves.

Investigation Progress
The police have already recorded a partial statement of the accused. Shahrulanwar said that the case is under investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The accused was produced before the Batu Pahat Magistrate’s Court on the morning of 5 February.

His remand has been extended for another six days. Investigators are working to clarify the full context and motive of the incident. Besides, the surrounding evidence and digital data are also being examined.
Mysterious Message
Before this incident, the employer of the deceased girl reported an unusual message. He said a message came from the girl’s number where it was written that she would be absent for some time for urgent work. That message was the first to raise suspicion. Then, when the news of her disappearance spread, the matter came to the attention of the police. The police believe that this message may have been sent to cover up the situation after the murder. This aspect is also under investigation.
