The sexual assault of a six-year-old child in the Kampus area of Malaysia has created a sensation. A 43-year-old school security guard has admitted to the 13 sexual offenses against him in court. He bowed his head in the Sessions Court on Monday (March 2) and said he understood all the charges and pleaded guilty.

According to the charges, the crimes were committed between January 22 and February 17 at his squatter’s house. The prosecution said the incident has become a serious warning for the child protection system.
Serious Charges
The court was told that there is a serious charge of rape against the accused. He has also been charged with four counts of physical sexual assault and four counts of non-physical sexual assault. Two more charges of unnatural sex have also been included.

At the same time, there are two charges of recording a video of the abuse of a child. These charges have been filed under various sections of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and the Penal Code.
Confession in Court
The accused stood calmly before the court during the hearing on Monday. When the judge read out the charges, he said he understood everything. Later, he formally pleaded guilty.

Deputy Public Prosecutors Nur Farah Wahida Shahudin and S. Manushree told the court that the offences were not bailable. As a result, the court upheld the decision not to grant any bail.
Verdict Date Set
Sessions Judge Mohd Jamir Suhaimi set the date for the verdict on Wednesday (March 4) considering the importance of the case. The court said that the decision will be announced after reviewing all the information and documents. According to the law, if found guilty, the accused can be sentenced to imprisonment for eight to 30 years.

In addition, there is a provision for at least 10 strokes of the cane. Therefore, there is a lot of interest in the verdict in this case.
Case Against Guardian
Meanwhile, in a separate court, a charge of negligence has also been filed against the accused’s 46-year-old girlfriend. The complaint states that as the child’s guardian, she exposed him to physical harm. The woman, who works as a restaurant assistant, pleaded not guilty in court. Judge Ahmad Kamal Arifin Ismail granted him bail of 8,000 ringgit in one surety. The next hearing of the case has been set for April 2.
