A Tense Moment In Chonburi
What began as a routine relief visit turned into a near-disaster when a house suddenly collapsed while officials were inside.
According to the Facebook page “ข่าวเมืองชล,” Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Sritong and Ms. Praphatsara Sritong, president of the provincial Red Cross, visited Phanat Nikhom District to distribute relief bags to underprivileged and elderly residents.

During their conversation with an elderly woman inside her wooden home, the structure gave way without warning.
Seconds After A Promise, The Floor Collapsed
Just before the collapse, the governor assured the elderly homeowner that her house would be repaired within two to three months.
Only moments later, the floor subsided, and a large wooden cabinet toppled onto the group inside.

Despite the dramatic fall, everyone escaped unharmed.
Officials Order Immediate Rebuilding
After the collapse, the governor and the provincial Red Cross president instructed that urgent action be taken to repair or rebuild the house right away.
Additionally, it was reported that officials were ordered to speed up assistance so the woman would not have to wait.
Possible Cause Of The Accident
According to Smart Local Thailand, the collapse may have been caused by the structure failing to support the weight of the people inside during the visit.
Netizens React
The dramatic video quickly went viral, prompting a wave of online comments. Many expressed concern, while others responded with humor at the timing of the incident.
“They said it would take two or three months to repair, but officials arranged it right away; fix it now.”
“Grandma must be thinking: too many people came, too much weight, her floorboards couldn’t handle the guests.”
“Seeing this with our own eyes, approve a prefabricated house immediately. If you wait for repairs, where will Grandma stay? The rainy season is coming.”
“I feel so sorry for Grandma. The house collapsed because too many people went up to take photos. Helping Grandma is good, but if it’s to be truly good, it should be done without staging it for show.”
A visit meant to deliver aid to an elderly resident in Phanat Nikhom ended in a startling collapse, but also fast-tracked her housing repairs.
What was originally a two-to three-month promise has now become an urgent rebuild order.
