Warner Bros. is now developing a movie based on the fantasy world of “Game of Thrones.”

As reported on THR, the studio is currently working with writer Beau Willimon (of “Andor” fame) to pen a script for a film that revolves around the first Targaryen king, Aegon I and his conquest of Westeros.
The project reportedly will be an epic film comparable to the “Dune” franchise.

The story of Aegon I is a part of George R. R. Martin’s book of the Targaryen’s definitive history, “Fire & Blood,” specifically in the chapter “Aegon’s Conquest.” The character was also mentioned several times in his “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series that created the hit HBO show, “Game of Thrones”.

While nothing is set in stone following the acquisition of Warner Bros by Paramount Skydance, many believe that the project will be greenlit by the latter, seeing that CEO David Ellison is a fan of the series.
