Two people were seriously injured after a man stabbed them in Taman Bandar Baru, Kampar, Perak state, Malaysia, on 8 March. Police said the suspect was initially believed to be suffering from mental hallucinations. The two injured are the man’s own son and younger sister. The incident took place inside a house and quickly spread panic in the area.
Police later arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control and begin an investigation. The injured are currently being treated at the hospital, and the suspect is being kept under medical observation.
Incident in Family Home
Police said the incident took place in the living room of a two-story house. The suspect, his son and his younger sister lived together in the house. The situation suddenly became tense during the incident. The suspect then attacked them with a sharp weapon.
The incident occurred in the evening and quickly turned serious. Later, the injured were lying in a bloody state and were rushed to the hospital.
Seriously Injured in Stabbing
According to police, the 22-year-old boy was stabbed three times in the left side of the neck by his father. At the same time, the younger sister of the accused was also stabbed once in the left side of the neck. Both were seriously injured in the attack.
They were later rushed to the hospital. They are currently receiving treatment in critical condition in the hospital. Doctors are closely monitoring their condition.
Suspect’s Condition
Police said the accused is 58 years old and is currently unemployed. He also suffered injuries to his own palm during the attack. He was later detained and sent to the hospital for medical observation.
It is initially believed that he was suffering from mental hallucinations. As a result, he lost control of his behavior.
Previous Medical History
Investigations revealed that the accused had previously been treated for mental problems. He had received psychiatric treatment at a hospital in Ipoh. For this reason, the police believe that his mental condition may be related to the incident. He is currently being monitored by specialist doctors. At the same time, his mental condition is also being monitored.
Investigation Underway
Police said that a full investigation into the incident is underway. Investigators are examining the cause and circumstances of the incident in detail. In addition, statements from family members are also being taken.
