A new debate has erupted as many organizations announce plans to return to the office in full by 2026. In this context, a former human resources (HR) professional has called for the introduction of ‘work from home’ (WFH) or hybrid methods in the workplace again on social media.

According to her, severe traffic congestion and overcrowding of public transport in recent times have become a big challenge for employees. She believes that flexible working arrangements do not harm the organization; rather, they increase the morale of employees. Her statement quickly spread online and received a huge response.
Increasing Traffic Congestion
Traffic congestion has increased significantly in the capital and surrounding areas in recent months. Many employees are now having to leave their homes much earlier than before. There have been allegations that even a slight delay has led to long delays.

Some have said that a 20-minute journey now takes more than an hour. As a result, employees are getting tired before reaching the office.
Crowding in Public Transport
On the other hand, the passenger pressure on trains and buses has also increased. Many public transport is filling up before office hours start. This is making the daily commute for employees difficult and mentally exhausting.

Many on social media expressed surprise, saying that the sudden return of so many people to the office has made the situation unusual. They believe that partial WFH could have reduced the pressure a bit.
Debate on Social Media
However, not everyone is of the same opinion on this issue. Many believe that some senior officials still have a distrustful attitude towards working remotely. They believe that working from home means that employees work less.
Others say that office presence ensures team coordination and accountability. On the other hand, many admit that employers are reluctant to accept the abuse of the benefits by some employees in the past. Still, those in the know say that a balanced hybrid approach could be a realistic solution.
