Two cyclists from India, @cycle_yatrika and @eco_traveler_ on Instagram have begun an ambitious long-distance journey — pedalling thousands of kilometres from southern India to Singapore.

The travellers, who share updates through the account @eco_traveler_, started their expedition six weeks ago from Kochi in Kerala. Carrying bags, an Indian flag, and a placard outlining their intended route, the duo set off with plans to cross several countries across South and Southeast Asia before eventually reaching Singapore.
Their journey is being documented through travel vlogs posted on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
Two-year Dream Finally Begins
In a caption shared on @eco_traveler_’s account, the cyclists said the journey had been two years in the making.
They wrote that they had spent those years working relentlessly while dreaming of the day they could begin the ride. The pair added that enduring cold, rain and heat in Delhi had been part of the struggle leading up to the trip.

Looking back now, they said the hardships bring a sense of calm as they finally set out on the road.
Their goal is to cycle across multiple countries in Asia before reaching Singapore, travelling through India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia along the way.
Journey Begins from Kochi
The cyclists began their trip in Kochi, displaying a placard that read “India to Singapore” alongside a row of flags representing the countries along their planned route.
Their early days on the road included travelling from Kochi to towns such as Adimaly and Anachal before reaching the hill station of Munnar.

Along the way, they took time to experience the landscapes around them. During their stop in Munnar, they stayed overnight and later even hiked to Meesapulimala to catch the sunrise.
Encounters and Milestones on the Road
Just four days into the journey, the duo caught the attention of a tourist from London who stopped to ask about their route and timeline.
One of the cyclists responded that the entire trip to Singapore could take around a year to complete.

More than a month into the ride, they reached another milestone. On day 33, the pair crossed the state border from Kerala into Tamil Nadu.
Earlier in the trip, on the second day, they had also reduced the weight of their luggage to make the long ride more manageable.
Sharing the Journey Online
The cyclists regularly pause their ride to edit and upload videos documenting their progress.
Their vlogs capture not only the distance covered but also everyday moments on the road — roadside encounters, scenic views and reflections on the challenges of long-distance cycling.

Through these updates, they have begun attracting encouragement from viewers online, with several fellow cyclists praising the effort and dedication required for such a journey.
Not the First Ride to Singapore
Long-distance bicycle journeys to Singapore have been attempted before, though via different routes.
For instance, the team behind Cycling Monks previously documented a cycling expedition from Ranchi in India to Singapore.
Still, each journey brings its own set of challenges — and for this duo, the road from Kerala to Singapore is only just beginning.
