A delivery rider in Bangkok is being celebrated online for his brave actions after a fire broke out at a condominium in the Nonthaburi area on Sunday, July 21.
The man, who is also a volunteer firefighter, entered the smoke-filled building to rescue a trapped, unconscious cat, an act that has captured widespread attention across social media.
According to reports, while most residents evacuated, the rider chose to run into the building, risking his own life to retrieve the feline believed to belong to a resident who wasn’t home at the time.
Desperate Fight for Life
As captured in viral videos originally shared on TikTok, the man was seen carrying the lifeless cat down the stairs, then laying it down in a nearby car park.
There, he began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a frantic attempt to revive it.
Firefighters on the scene soon brought over an oxygen tank and breathing apparatus to assist the cat’s recovery.
The video later revealed that the cat eventually showed signs of life, its pulse returning thanks to the combined efforts of the rider and fire crew.

The rider later followed a firefighter on a motorcycle to bring the revived cat to a veterinary clinic, ensuring it received proper medical attention.
In a now-deleted TikTok comment seen before removal, a user claiming to be the rider shared, “I am the rider. The little one has reached the doctor and is safe,” according to The Thaiger.

Viewers reacted to the clips with admiration, applauding the man’s quick thinking and willingness to act.
Many commenters referred to him as a hero, with some even calling him a hero for his actions.
