Father Confronted After Allegedly Leaving Child Unattended

A video circulating widely on TikTok shows a father being confronted by another parent after allegedly leaving his young child alone at an indoor playground at a mall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The footage, shared by TikTok page @cyberjayaviral, shows the parent berating the man — who appeared to be accompanied by another woman — claiming he had spent two hours looking after the child while the man disappeared.

“What’s wrong with you all? How can you leave your child like that and disappear for so long?”

“Do you understand or not? … Your child almost went missing twice, you know!”

The video shows the visibly upset parent confronting the man and insisting that a young child should not be left alone in a public play area.

Child Allegedly Wandered Out Twice; Stranger Paid for Her Drink

In the clip, the father claimed he had “informed the staff on duty” before leaving. But the parent snapped back, saying playground staff were not responsible for childcare and that the child had wandered out of the play area twice.

“If I hadn’t looked after your child and they went missing, what then?”

He added that he had bought the child a drink, which the father later tried to pay for.

“Doesn’t matter, I can cover it. But you can’t just leave your child and wander off like that.”

A woman accompanying the father tried to explain they were only gone “for a short while,” but the parent rejected that claim.

“Short while? It’s been two hours. Check the CCTV. One hour, two hours — how long do you think you were gone? You went back to Singapore? Proof, come.”

He also recorded the entire confrontation, saying:

“If you’re scared or embarrassed, then don’t do things like this.”

The original clips were later shared by the person recording the video, on his Instagram @thomaschen8800.

Alleged Wife Claims She Discovered Husband’s Cheating Through the Video

The dispute later took another turn online.

According to the TikTok page, a woman claiming to be the man’s wife contacted them after recognising him in the viral video. She alleged that her husband was with another woman, and that she only discovered the alleged infidelity because the video spread online.

“Thank you for making the video go viral. The man in the video is my husband, and he was with another woman. I only found out he cheated because of this video,” she wrote.

A screenshot of her message was included in the comments section.

Netizens React

The videos sparked widespread criticism, with many praising the strangers who stepped in to protect the child.

Comments also condemned the father for allegedly treating playground staff as “temporary babysitters” and ignoring safety risks faced by unattended children in public spaces.

Some users expressed sympathy for the woman who claimed to be his wife, calling the situation “heartbreaking.”
